Home Grown Investor Series: Current Landscape for Venture Capital
Wednesday 1st March, 6.30pm
We are absolutely delighted to be launching the ‘Home-Grown: Investor Series’, hosted in partnership with Francesca Smith, Private Office Financial Planner at Jarrovian Wealth. They will be running quarterly events focused on a range of different financial and investment topics.
Kicking off for our first event we will be focusing on what the current economic challenges with rising levels of inflation, mainstream capital market volatility and rumblings of recession mean in the Private Market Sector. The event will particularly focus on the impact that this is having on raising venture capital money for investment into early-stage businesses to series A and beyond. This session will look at the challenges that are being faced, the potential opportunities emerging in 2023 and the shift we are seeing across the sector towards more sustainable focused venture capital. We will also be focusing on the different venture capital that is available to businesses, including Seed Enterprise Investment Schemes (SEIS) and Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS); as well as Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs). As well as talking through what each means for investors and how these structures could form part of your wider tax-planning strategy.
To kick off the series we will be joined by:
James Faulkner, Managing Director at Vala Capital
Raj Saxena, Managing Director of Velocity Capital,
Lisa Carroll, Managing Director at Keiretsu Forum
Simon King, Partner, Ventures Team at Octopus Ventures
Chaired by Francesca Smith, Private Office Financial Planner at Jarrovian Wealth
