Book Salon: Jo Browning Wroe with The Merit Club
Saturday 4th October | 1:00pm
We’re delighted to be partnering with our friends at The Merit Club for this special weekend Book Salon, where we’ll be joined by author Jo Browning Wroe for an afternoon of meaningful conversation around her debut novel, A Terrible Kindness.
Set in the shadow of the Aberfan disaster, Jo’s novel unfolds with deep humanity – a moving story about grief, healing, and the quiet power of kindness. A beautiful and thought-provoking read, it’s sparked much discussion already – and we’re looking forward to exploring it together.
Our ever-thoughtful host Denise will guide the conversation, creating space to reflect on the story, ask questions, and hear what stood out to others.
We’ll then enjoy a relaxed two-course lunch (£25pp – drinks on consumption) with members from both Home Grown and The Merit Club – a lovely opportunity to keep the conversation going and make new connections in a warm, welcoming setting.
